Sweet Lily welcomed baby brother Benjamin to the world 5 weeks ago. I couldn’t wait to meet him and get some snuggles in. He is still so tiny and such a love. And it is always a treat to get to see Lily and play catch up with her momma. I spent a lot more time talking than I did taking pictures. But that is one of the reasons I love getting to do so many sessions with this adorable family. That and the kids are so ridiculously cute. Love.

If your first question is, “Did that mom seriously have a baby 5 weeks ago?” The answer is a simple yes. Yes, she did. Katherine, you look amazing, as always.

We really tried to get Lily to smile right when I got there, but I have to admit, this pouty look kills me.

Can I just say that I love this simple image of Lily? The things in life that I love the most are the little quirks that make each of us unique. These traits are especially darling in children. If Lily has a pacifier in her mouth, she ALWAYS has another one in her hand that she rubs. Her mom says sometimes she has a whole bunch, but always at least one in her hand. I love that. One day she is going to be big and these memories will start to fade, but not when you have it captured forever. I love that she is curled up on her momma’s lap still being the baby that she is. Little love bug.

What a precious, precious family! Had so much fun with them on my first session while I am in Little Rock for a bit. I actually grew up going to church with Neil’s family. So fun to see people that I knew as a child now that we are all grown up with families of our own. Evan was so much fun to work with. He is such a sweet, happy little guy and just went with the flow. He is busy, but didn’t make me chase him the whole time. He was perfect!! Enjoy!

When I was approached about this session, I knew right away that there was a potential for a wild and crazy session. See, Ella was born just 2 weeks ago and her older siblings are 2 and 4. Anyone can guess that a newborn, 2 and 4 year old could make for a very interesting session. But not these three. They were like little dream clients. First, Ella was asleep the entire time. We could easily position her between the older two or move her around. Wyatt and Olivia opened right up to me. There was really no warm up time. And finally, their parents were present but not overbearing. Unfortunately, I think sometimes we, as parents, sabotage a session by trying to make a 2 and 4 year old act perfectly. But they don’t do that. They are silly and playful and if we don’t fight that, I am able to get true, real life, and beautiful images of your family. Thank you so much to this family for just relaxing and allowing me to do my thing with your kiddos. It was a blast for me and I think they had a pretty good time as well. Enjoy!!!!! I am sharing a lot since they have had to wait so long for a peek. And because I love how this session turned out. My dream home to shoot in – bright white rooms with gorgeous modern white furniture. LOVE! And three beautiful kids make it that much better!

Another one of my favorite babies that I have photographed many times now! Lily is always the most laid back, easy going girl. I just love her demeanor. We took some of these photos on Friday morning but it was so cold we could hardly do any outside. Then we met up again Saturday afternoon and snapped a few more when it was a little warmer when I was photographing her cousins. She got a haircut in between the two sessions. I like how we have the longer hair and newly trimmed hair documented. Enjoy!

This first one is killing me.

I really can’t believe that I just finished my 4th session of precious Hattie’s first year of life. Time has flown since we started with her newborn session. I have said it after every session I have done with her, that she is just sooooo easy and good to me. It was 100 degrees with thick humidity, but she just smiled away. She is just a laid back, happy, and beautiful baby girl. I will miss seeing her each time I go to Little Rock. She was my final session from my time there, and she ended the trip on such a great note.

A New Year, A New Blog

I finally took the time to get a new blog put together for La La. It is something I have wanted to do for quite some time, but finding the time was not all that easy. But I finally forced myself to get it done and learn how to use a new blog format and I am quite happy with the results. This is where you will now find all of my session sneak peeks and any info that I want to pass along. And because I think every post needs some pictures, here are a few of my favorites from 2010 sessions of January. I have only worked with little girls so far this year!!
